Our Humble Little History -- In the summer of 1972, Lowell and Kathleen Chandler opened a little pizzeria in Litchfield, IL. At the same time they were looking for a place to worship our Lord. They, along with a few other families, started having church in the main dining room. We remember as young kids moving tables and placing chairs in rows facing the fireplace. Pizza Man was our church every Sunday. Brothers Jeff and Scott Chandler with their families have taken over the business in 2004 adding more menu items and an ice cream parlor. -- In the early morning hours of May 4th, 2015, our building was completely destroyed by fire. During those seemingly hard times we reached out to our God and he blessed us with many people from family, friends and our very own customers donating their time and resources to help us build again. -- Litchfield's Pizza Man has a long history woven into the fabric of the community and school district. We sponsor numerous sports, leagues, and local charities. Pizza Man is known for their Original Thin Crust Pizza, and our famous Original sub as well as pastas, wings, calzones, buffet and much more. We have customers that have become friends and they come back over and over. Some have moved away but when they are in town they always stop by and say, "Hey, some of our best times growing up were right here at Pizza Man!" They all have their special stories to tell us from times they spent with their family and friends eating here. Jeff and Scott as well as their brother Dennis and sister Brenda all grew up in the business, along with learning what it takes to run a successful business from their parents and how to treat people. -- For this reason we are known as a family restaurant. The family is one of the most important reasons that make life worth living and the memories that you create here at Pizza Man will always bring a smile to your face when you visit.
2015 was a very hard year for us! On may 4th we lost our pizzeria to a fire . We didn't know what was going to happen.
With the overwhelming help of family, friends, community and especially God himself, we open exactly one year later.
We built it back up within the next year to make an even better testimony of how great our God is!
It took us one year to rebuild, and now we are back! Thank you to all of those that helped us make the dough again.
